Enough about me. What do you think about me?

We all know one (or more) of those people. The type that manages to make everything about them.

Have a drama in your life? They’ve been there and it was worse. Got a new dress/job/book/partner? So do they OR there is something wrong with theirs, and they manage to turn the conversation back around to them.

I’m not sure if it’s because I’m trying hard to be more mindful lately (more on that tomorrow) but I’m really aware of these types at the moment. More to the point, I’m very concerned I may be one of them! I am a personal blogger after all, and it can be an occupational hazard to talk about oneself a lot.

I just hope that I give as much as I receive when it comes to listening, offloading and supporting. Being surrounded by awesome folk as I am, I’d hate to think that I am that person for them.

So next time you are having a conversation with someone, check in with yourself. Are you listening, really listening, to what they are saying? Do they need more air space than you at this moment? Sure, you might have something burningly relevant you’d like to chip in with but perhaps this isn’t the best time.

Just think about it, ok? I know I will be.

Do you have people in your life who make everything all about them? How do you manage your interactions with them?
